RC Interviews Dallas1!
RC: What sparked your interest in Raceclubs? Dallas1: By complete accident I logged onto Ladbrokes backing a good thing at Cheltenham- when I noticed it in the corner of my eye. I thought this could be interesting.
RC: What do you look forward to most when playing on Raceclubs? Dallas1: Besides being competitive for myself I also like to see the good guys do well, sometimes even at my expense! At the moment the current changes that Raceclubs is implementing- mainly because some of my suggestions are being put into practice.
RC: How does playing on Raceclubs compare to real horse racing? Dallas1: Working in the industry for 25 years I feel its identical in every area. When I have a bet it comes 2nd just like the real racing!
RC: Tell us about your first winner and your other top horses. Dallas1: My best horses: ALL OF THEM! My first winner was from the claimers for a tenner called CRYSTAL PALACE- its won £300 and was a good advertisement for the claimers.
RC: Tell us about your best win and why it meant so much. Dallas1: When Cosmic Cruz won the Derby qualifier- mainly because I had gone on about it so much it needed to win to show that I have a star on my hands, wont win the Darby but next years Cesarewitch is in the bag. Also Pool Of Dreams- my first qualifier.
RC: List some of your top achievements. Dallas1: Leading the trainers title the first month, and probably breaking some records along the way. Biggest achievement by far getting to know the other trainers, even the miserable ones like Diablo.
RC: What do you typically do before a big race? Dallas1: Smoke 100 cigarettes; most importantly tell my babies not to worry if they do bad, there’s always another day.
RC: Tell us about your most memorable moments on Raceclubs. Dallas1: God these are getting hard: Pool Of Dreams was 2nd in challenge final, bad draw did not like going, and carried another 2lb, should never have run him in the last qualifier, which he won. I still dream of that night when I could have had my first champion, but he did me proud by finishing 2nd.
RC: What are your goals for your future racing on Raceclubs? Dallas1: To win a challenge final or 2, will be totally DEVESTATED if I don’t at least win one this season with the stable I have at the moment. I would also like to represent Raceclubs in some capacity: I am bursting with ideas, from schedules to jump racing- there’s potential in jump racing- if you don’t do it soon then someone else will. - I hope you pay well I don’t come cheap.
RC: What advice would you give to new Raceclubs members? Dallas1: I believe all new starters should be put forward to a regular trainer for advice about getting started. These are tips I give guys when they ask:-
• Buy ten colts from sales ring no more and train them based on my methods. No matter if the 10 you get from sales ring are no good, as long as they beat the barrier by 2l over 1400 they will win a race one day, more importantly it will get you used to nominating and training. Put 3 of the bad ones in a group 1 that no one has entered and race them, the ones that get beat will drop down in weights before you know it, and soon will be capable of winning a allowance race. • Get 2/3 claimers in the first week- use the info that comes with the claimers so you have runners right away. Get 1 horse a month from auctions no more, that way you get to know the trainers who to trust, the same with claimers. • Now with a bit of luck after 2 weeks you are ready and motivated to do the same process again, go to sales ring and follow the previous guidelines that I have put out
Of all the 25 trainers I’ve advised to follow the above only 1 has not had a winner. Trainers who have the funds to spend more I tell them to double up the above. I am on this site 16 hrs a day. The main reason I help these people is I enjoy their email when they have their first winner. Remember a small happy client today is a big spender in the future, EARLY SUCCESS INCOURAGES PEOPLE TO STAY.
RC: Name the best horse, in your opinion, belonging to a fellow member. Dallas1: 99% of trainers would agree LADY KILLER.
RC: What is your favourite real horse racing event? Dallas1: Jump racing Cheltenham festival Flat racing Royal Ascot.
RC: Are you involved in real horse racing and if so in what capacity? Dallas1: I worked for a betting agency for 20 years but decided not to go further because they don’t practice what they preach, especially customer care. I believe if you treat clients as a dollar sign they will go elsewhere. |
